The Tutor in Me

Write with spell check turned off.
Spelling and grammar matters,
but not first.
First I'd love to hear your story,
your argumentative essay,
your persusasive comments.
Yes, I just spelled persuasive wrong.

Because I write with spell check turned off.
I check my spelling afterwards,
but not first.
First I write a poem
for the sake of sound,
conscious audible sound.

B-sides, spelling can be deceiving.
Grammar, misleading.
The trickster at the tip of your pencil,
dancing on the keys of your board.
Type faster and you might catch him
beneath your pointer finger.

But once you have him, he wins.
You can't move as fast with one hand.
Or can you? Or is this the trickster talking right now!
Question marks straighten out in moments of such surprise.
Bet your grammar check wouldn't explain that rule to you.
As I made it up!

Her Story

Smug men, high on horses,
beautiful, set in stone.
Holding peace like they're the owner.
Wine is blood. Bread is bone.

A bread loaf dropped into the rocks,
a crumb into his mother's cleavage.
Hunger leads a man to greed.
Greed and land-owning suffrage.

She erodes under his nose,
lands upon an endless shore.
Bread and bone will decompose.
She reforms just like before.

Men arrive in their ships,
clipity clop onto the rocks.
Nautical star gazers who got their wish
were carriers of chickenpox.

Be the elders your kids could be,
but keep in mind this principle:
You're much younger than she is.
Our history is Her silent sience.

Carryin' On

First new video in months thanks to a spectacular night of karaoke, (a smidge of drunkeness) and a ridiculously fun-to-use editing program, TrakAx.

Carryin' On

The first video I've edited in months thanks to TrakAx.
